| Lignano is the best location for the exploration of the wonderful wildlife tours of its surroundings. The Stella river is a nice trip and is not overcrowded with tourism. One can reach it by car on the way from Pertegada to Precenicco or for an organized trip. Marano is the main fishing based economy village of the northern adriatic sea and its also in the middle of a natural wildlife reserve. It’s interesting atmosphere becomes very special to those who wants to try the local gastronomy. Grado is an old yet interesting fishing activity based little town. The best way to reach it from Lignano is by boat. There are many agencies that organize journeys to Grado. An interesting trip is Trieste. The Miramare castle is in the middle of a natural reserve and offers interesting historical and landscape journeys. International art expositions are also available in the same place. One can also visit the city centre from its famous Piazza Unità up to the Middle Ages S.Giusto castle. Founded by Venice as a defence from Turkish invasions, Palmanova has nowadays the same star shape structure. In the middle of the town one can often find during summertime live shows or historical folklore events. There is the opportunity to daily organize trips to Venice. We recommend not to miss the Regata Storica that is an historical event if the first September weekend. Aquileia was the major northern Adriatic sea harbour during the Roman empire period and the target of barbarian raids through the following centuries. One can visit the museums and its unique survived mosaics. |
